We are here to provide urgent care veterinary services to our community. We encourage routine veterinary care for your pets to be made as an appointment with your usual veterinarian, though we can accommodate routine care on occasion if you can’t get in with your family veterinarian.

PETFORWARD URGENT CARE PURPOSE

We are locals supporting locals.  We are a privately owned practice of highly trained veterinary professionals who have special interest in caring for the ill, injured, unwell and sick pets of our community. We have a deep love for our pets and therefore everyone else's as well. We are an urgent care that CARES.

We understand that when a pet is sick, there is a person who is stressed. 

We are here for both.

Who We Are

PetForward Urgent Care of Indian Trail is an urgent care center for pets, with a twist from the current theme in veterinary urgent care.

We will triage just like the ERs do so the most urgent cases go first. When triage results are equal, we will see everyone in the order of arrival. 

We will offer drop off services for select cases.

We will perform diagnostics with a wide range of testing available within minutes.

  • Bloodwork
  • Radiographs / X-rays
  • Point of care ultrasound
    

Some tests may still be sent to an outside laboratory with results reported to you and your family veterinarian when they become available.

We will perform procedures that require light sedation, heavy sedation and full anesthesia.

Examples include:

  • Lacerations
  • Fracture stabilization
  • Abdominal surgery (as available pending staffing and caseload)

Healthier Pets, Happier People

Our priority is: The pets AND the people who come with them, and then all of the rest.

Who We Are Not

We are not an ER. Critically ill pets will receive immediate support like pain medication, oxygen, heating or cooling, all while we are preparing the pet and family for transport to a  24 hr care facility.

No pets will sleep over.

Pets requiring overnight care will be transferred to a 24 hour veterinary facility. 

Pets that can be supported with hospitalization during the day can be treated at our facility from 7:30am-9:30pm 

This may include…

  • Chronic renal failure
  • Stable pancreatitis
  • Stable diabetes mellitus
  • Other non-critical cases as agreed by the doctor & family

Waiting

There may be a  wait time, very much like the rest of veterinary medicine these days.

 
All general practices, urgent cares and ERs alike are operating at their best and yet, families are having to wait. We know. We will do everything we can to have pets seen as swiftly as possible. We will also be staffed with amazing, knowledgeable and spectacularly comforting staff who can help explain, keep informed and most of all, provide comfort to the families who are waiting and worried.

Follow up

Cases dismissed from our care will receive written discharge instructions and other education materials / handouts / references as available pending your pets’ condition.

We forward all medical records, lab work, images and such to each family veterinarian within 24 hrs of dismissal.

We  follow up with each client to see how everything is going at home, and also, how it went while with us. We want to know how you felt about your experience at PetForward and how we can improve.   It is important to us that we are a responsible part of the fabric of community support for pets in our region.
